Singapore....February 2009

...a few snaps from my whirlwind tour of Singapore, saw Chinatown, the famous Raffles hotel etc. Met Bernard and Cheryl Dalton for lunch and drunk too much red wine. Ate Japanese steak, whereby the calf gets massaged daily and is fed beer! Not a bad life I hear you ponder....

Singapore Airlines in first class and I had a great flight. Managed to see the 'Hollywood' sign on the way in to LA. Was going to call in at the Oscars, but tired of the Paparazzi hounding me :)

Heading back soon and it's Rodeo this weekend in Houston!!! Then off to Vail, Co. for destiny; destiny for me and the black slopes that is!!??!!??!!!

Drugs for the trip to Singapore...

....I leave for Singapore on Friday. Houston to Los Angeles to Tokyo to Singapore and had to do a medical before leaving! After four jabs, Hepatitis A, B, Polio and something else, I received my compulsory medical kit today.

Not sure where I'm gonna stash it....I received 5 sets of prescription drugs in my name and then the over the counter stuff. It even includes a digital thermometer!!!

Everything's bigger in Texas....or so they say!!!

Hi ho, hi ho it's off to work I go...

...first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Not the same days though, but ya get my drift right?

I did have time to do my drivers license last week...and yes, before y'all ask, I did pass!

Shopping for our ski weekend in Vail, Co.

Well we started shopping for ski clothes, as we're in Vail Colorado for our first ski trip shortly after I get back from Singapore, I think 11 to 15 March.
Needless to say we had fun and didn't even get to try on jackets and pants.....
....By the way, the temperature in Vail today is a high of -5 degrees C and a low of -15 degrees C. Hence the hats ;)

Weekend adventures....

....well another fantastic weekend in Houston, Tx. Friday started by at an "Ice House", where far too much of you know what was consumed again. A few snaps attached of the inside. It's called Woodrows, just off Westheimer on Chimney Rock Road. Saturday morning was laaazy, spent time chatting to Tania and dowloading from iTunes (my new addiction).

Saturday night was House of Blues and a brilliant night! Today, was another recovery day and the usual adventure at the supermarket.

A few pics around town are attached. A horse and cart downdown Houston and a pic or two of my next car....I wish!!!

Anyway, one more weekend before I'm off to Singapore and then back for the ski trip to Vail, Colorado!!! Needless to say, there will be plenty of pics taken. I'll be the suave, James Bond look-alike on the black slopes.....

Car versus coffee machine...

....well the results are in and after a slight delay due to an independent audit process, guess who won....?

Was it the car....? Or was it the coffee machine...?

I hate to admit it, but the over 300 horse power German steed was pipped to the post by the 110v, Italian beauty!

The coffee machine took it!!! A sad day indeed...

House of Blues - 02/07/2009

What a fantastic evening. Saw Disco Biscuits and Gov't Mule at HOB, 1204 Caroline st, Downtown Houston. We had VIP tickets and had a cordoned off area directly behind the Sound Engineer and a perfect view of the stage. Both bands were fantastic and I've been down loading some of their stuff from iTunes.

Got there at 19:30 and got home at 01:40!!! What a blast!!!
